Let’s Talk About The Money

Here at Jernigan Orthopedics and Orthobiologics we are a staff of only 3, giving us the ability to get to know each one of our patients. Dr. Jernigan is not a “7 minute” doctor. He takes the time to explain your diagnosis and treatment options in great detail. We take pride in the fact you will get to see the actual physician at each visit.

“Let’s talk about the money”

Dr. Jernigan doesn’t have contracts with any insurance companies besides traditional medicare.

What this means for you

  • We only file claims with traditional medicare.
  • We do not file claims with commercial insurance companies. All patients with commercial insurance pay at the time service is rendered. We provide patients with appropriate documentation to submit a claim to their insurance provider if they chose. When patients have out of network benefits, their insurance company often reimburses them by sending a check or by applying it to their deductible. (We do not make any promises that you will be reimbursed and leave that between you and your insurance provider. You will need to speak with your insurance provider for details on how you can file a claim.)
  • We keep our prices transparent and affordable. For example, a new patient visit or visit for an existing patient with a new problem is $150. There are additional charges if we need to perform x-rays and/or if an injection is performed. We find that often patients pay less out of pocket than if they were to seek care from an in-network provider. It’s important that you understand how your benefits work.

It’s your health. Be informed.

We believe in the value of patients taking an active and well-informed role in making decisions about their health. That is why we are committed to being as transparent as possible with the information—and advice—our patients need to feel comfortable about their course of treatment.

Part of our commitment to transparency means being up front and honest about Dr. Jernigan’s surgical success and complication rates.
