Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow is probably the most common form of tendonitis of the elbow. It is also called lateral epicondylitis.

It feels like a dull ache on the outside of the elbow. It also hurts a lot when something bumps against the bone prominence of the outer elbow.

Tennis elbow is different from many other forms of tendonitis as it is due to stalled healing of tiny tears in the tendon at its attachment to the bone of the elbow. If pain has been present for over three months, it means that the natural healing of tiny tendon injuries has stopped.

Tennis elbow treatment can include rest, modification of daily activities to lessen the loads put on the injured tendon, medications by mouth, topical medications, forearm tennis elbow straps, injection, and surgery.

Platelet rich plasma has shown to be a very effective treatment option for tennis elbow. Platelet rich plasma, properly placed into a proper discrete target zone initiates a response within the patient’s body that can heal the tendon without the need for surgery.

Golfer’s Elbow

Golfer’s elbow is a form of tendonitis of the elbow. It is also called medial epicondylitis.

Triceps Tendonitis

Triceps tendonitis is inflammation of the triceps tendon along the zone in which it is transitioning from tendon to bone at the attachment to the elbow. It is usually a result of age related degeneration of the tendon combined with an injury. The injury is sometimes a repetitive injury from straining the tendon repeatedly as part of a regular activity.
